Female hormones or lack thereof, cramping your style?
As American women, we tend to take what we get when it comes to menstrual cycles and menopause. We assume PMS, hot flashes and mood swings must come alongside these transitions. Fortunately for us, they don’t have to. We should never know our cycle is coming, unless we’re counting the days, no cramping, no clotting, no breast tenderness, no backache, etc… Menopause can also be a smooth transition with little to no sweating, sleeplessness or anxiety.
Join us for an afternoon of yoga, acupuncture and meditation. The first hour, Kate Olson, RYT will guide you through a yoga sequence that includes gentle stretching and intentional movement to calm the nervous system and reduce stress. She will also teach students several breathing or pranayama exercises to manage stress in their daily lives. It is adapted for all levels of practice; beginner through advanced yogis, welcome. The second hour you'll receive an acupuncture treatment designed for hormone balance at any age from Kristen Happe, L.Ac. , while she discusses what hormone health should look like for us, from menarche to menopause. Meditation will follow.
This workshop is for women in their teens onward.
What to know and bring:
Please wear yoga clothes that we can roll up to your knees and elbows for your acupuncture treatment. Needles will be on the arms, hands, legs and feet. Bring your yoga mats if you have them.
